Greg's father is 30 years older than Greg. In 15 years the sum of their ages will be 130. What are their current ages?
Solution
Suppose Greg is x years old now.
ReplyDeleteNOW
Greg is x years old.
Greg's father is x + 30 years old.
15 YEARS LATER
Greg is x + 15 years old.
Greg's father is x + 30 + 15 years old.
As in 15 years the sum of their ages will be 130, we can set up an equation:
x + 15 + x + 30 + 15 = 130
x=70, is that correct?
